Dr. K. Vijayarajan’s research focuses on natural fibre composites, bio-silica reinforcement, and engineering design applications. His studies explore performance enhancement, sustainability, and material innovation using eco-friendly reinforcements like Digitaria ischaemum fibre and finger millet husk biosilica.

Design & Research Projects
Dr. K. Vijayarajan has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate projects in the areas of composite materials, design optimization, and sustainable engineering. His coordinated projects emphasize innovation, feasibility, and practical application in the field of mechanical design.
- Natural Fibre Composite Research: Development of eco-friendly composites reinforced with Digitaria ischaemum fibre and millet husk bio-silica.
- Design & Fabrication Projects: Led teams in mechanical design and fabrication (2017–2022) focusing on material performance, testing, and product innovation.
- Student Innovation Projects: Guided multidisciplinary teams under the Institution Innovation Council (IIC) initiatives (2019–Till date).
- HYDRO-GUARD Project: Designed and implemented a low-cost water level indicator system installed in all water tanks of AAMEC under my guidance.
He continues to mentor students in project planning, prototype development, and experimental validation aligned with academic and industrial goals.
